Chandni or Dolichos lablab is an edible podded bean is especially popular in the State of Gujarat. The bean is small (1-1.5 in) and half moon shaped. You can cook it up with with onions, garlic, ginger, chillies and spices and makes a great accompaniment with Indian breads like poori. It is also an essential for the vegetable medley dish called Undhiyu.
